From teacher to superintendent, Mr. Adams aims to continue advancing in his career
CHANUTE, KS, June 02, 2021 — Kellen J. Adams has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. A distinguished educator and administrator, Kellen J. Adams has recently been selected to serve as the superintendent of schools at Leavenworth USD 453. Additionally the owner of Midwest Timing and Results LLC, a full-scale track and cross-country timing company, since 2014, he previously excelled as the superintendent of Chanute USD 413 in Kansas from 2019 to 2023. In his role as a superintendent, he has supervised 1900 students and 400 staff members between five instructional centers. He is responsible for managing personnel, budgeting, meetings, and collaboration with the board of education as well as other districts. As the owner of Midwest Timing and Results LLC, Mr. Adams and his team provides timing services for high schools, middle schools and colleges for their cross country and track needs in addition to administering the full results of each event.
Mr. Adams is additionally active as an adjunct instructor in the Building Leadership Program at Fort Hays State University. He has held various positions as an educator and administrator, notably garnering experience as an assistant superintendent of El Dorado Public Schools from 2016 to 2019 and a Pre-K-12 principal for Logan Unified School District 326 from 2013 to 2016. Mr. Adams previously flourished as a volleyball coach, a track and field coach and a middle school mathematics and technology teacher for Hays Unified School District 489 from 2008 to 2013.
Mr. Adams initially obtained an undergraduate degree in business education from Fort Hays State University in 2008. He continued his education at the aforementioned university with a master’s degree in education leadership in 2012. He subsequently earned a EdD in education leadership from Kansas State University in 2018. Moreover, Mr. Adams is certified as a history, mathematics and business teacher and holds certifications for building leadership and district leadership.
Recruited as an advisory board member for Leadership Kansas, Mr. Adams has been a member of the Chanute Regional Development Authority and the Chanute chapter of Rotary International. He maintains his affiliation with the American Association of School Administrators, the United School Administrators of Kansas, the Chanute Chamber of Commerce and the Kansas School Superintendents’ Association, for which he hopes to hold a leadership role. Looking toward the future, Mr. Adams intends to remain in his district before advancing to a higher leadership position within the state while also focusing on his publishing endeavors and building upon his business.
